I get excited just thinking about this dress. Designed by the virtuosic Simon Porte Jacquemus in his entirely gorgeous SS18 “La Bomba” collection, this dress was made in Bulgaria using 55% linen and 45% cupro, and is lined with 100% cotton. The fabric is not stiff; it folds and drapes harmoniously over your figure as you move about. Its accentuation of the female form is masterly.
Images of sculpted Greek goddesses arrest my mind whenever I lay eyes on this enchanting piece. This is probably due to its ecru shade, as well as its sculptural-like folds around the bodice. The front of the dress coveys modesty, but the back -- with its flirtatious string detail and high slit -- expresses otherwise as it teases passerbys.
This dress is an undeniable classic, but is so seductively elevated. It does all the work on its own. It almost dictates a natural look because any indication of effort would be overwhelming. It’s pretty perfect in my opinion.
